HISTORY OF THE FLAME OF LOVE MOVEMENT IN SINGAPORE
It is with trust and confidence in our Blessed Virgin Mary, that the Flame of Love (FOL) of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Movement was introduced to the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Singapore.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore in 2021 gave the approval to form the FOL Ministry with the permission and support of our then Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr Paul Ngo (MEP), Parish Priest of Church of The Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The FOL Rosary prayers was first recited on 13 July 2021.
Singapore played a key role in helping to propagate the FOL Movement among the APAC countries such as Malaysia, Australia, India, Dubai, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea.
The FOL Singapore Movement received approval to conduct its activities in Singapore in March 2023, and now has close to 300 local members who participate in parish and family activities including home visitations, and works of mercy and charity such as providing meals for the poor.
The FOL Singapore Movement is now based at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, with Rev. Fr John Sim as its current Spiritual Director.
First Recitation of the Flame of Love Rosary
The Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore approved the formation of the ministry under Spiritual Director Rev. Fr Paul Ngo (MEP). The first communal Rosary was prayed on 13 July 2021.
APAC Propagation Across 10 Countries
Singapore became an active regional hub helping ignite Flame of Love Cenacles across Malaysia, Australia, India, Dubai, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Papua New Guinea.
Archdiocesan Approval & Community Growth
FOL Singapore received formal approval to conduct activities across the diocese. The local community expanded to nearly 300 members with home visitations and meal programs for the needy.
Hosting the Extraordinary International Congress
Delegates from more than 20 countries gathered at St. Francis Xavier Retreat Centre in Punggol to draft the international statutes under Canon Law, opened with Holy Mass by Cardinal William Goh.
Flourishing Parish Ministry at IHM
Under the spiritual direction of Rev. Fr John Sim, the ministry gathers daily on Zoom and monthly in person at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

2024 Extraordinary International Congress of the Flame of Love

FOL Singapore hosted the 2024 Extraordinary International Congress of the Flame of Love at the St. Francis Xavier Retreat Centre in Punggol, from 1st–7th March 2024. Close to 60 delegates from around the world forged the movement's constitution under Canon Law.

2024 Extraordinary International Congress of the Flame of Love
FOL Singapore hosted the 2024 Extraordinary International Congress of the Flame of Love at the St. Francis Xavier Retreat Centre in Punggol, from 1st–7th March 2024.
Close to 60 delegates from around the world (spanning North and South America, Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region), attended the week-long event, spending at least five days in retreat and forging their organisation's constitution to conform to new international standards for Private and Public Associations of the Faithful according to Canon Law and the decrees of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.
Among the delegates who came to Singapore, Canon Law expert Bishop Arulselvam Rayappan of Salem diocese in India as well as a dozen priests from various countries and religious orders attended the congress. Other delegates were laypeople with responsibilities at different levels of the movement. Together, they represented more than 20 countries like Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo, and the United Kingdom.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT — TO SPREAD THE FLAME OF LOVE
The Mission of our ministry is to evangelise with love, humility and courage, and through the gift of speech, we spread from heart to heart the Flame of Love to our families, friends and communities for the salvation of souls.
Let all hearts be ignited by this Flame of Love, Jesus Himself, so that we may be united with our Lord, gain the merciful love of our Eternal Father and receive the utmost graces from The Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Through living the messages given to Elizabeth Kindelmann, may the divine graces pouring out from the Flame of Love of Mary's Immaculate Heart blind Satan, release souls from purgatory, unite families, and bring more conversions, holiness, and repentance.
